General Description
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for the efficient and seamless operation of the laundry department and to maintain the hotels public areas and ground to a high level of cleanliness. This includes maintaining clean linens in good condition for guest rooms, proper care of all laundry equipment, linens and products, as well as assuring the correct amounts of linen are available at all times and correct par levels are maintained. Provide excellent customer service to the hotel guests.
Work Schedule
- Requires mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Monday through Sunday.
- Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
- Practices excellent communication skills, shares information to other shifts and to management regarding status of linens, linen needs, and any maintenance issues through use of the daily logbook or other approved channels.
- Reports all incidents, safety concerns or guest issues to MOD or General Manager readily, and through the appropriate channels to ensure maximum guest safety at all times.
- Cleans and sanitizes assigned public areas in accordance with company and franchise policy. Assists the executive housekeeper as needed with deliveries, cots, cribs, trash, etc. Assists front desk associates with deliveries to guest and meeting rooms and the cleaning of guest rooms after hours.
- Prepares, sets up housekeeping and linen carts in accordance with standards.
- Ensures hotel equipment, such as carts, vacuums, and a/v equipment are maintained properly and secured.
- Provides feedback, input and ideas to enhance the success of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.
- Completes any other task as requested by a supervisor, including the training new associates.
- Assists in the inventory of linens on a monthly basis. Follows the proper reclaim procedures and properly disposes of linen that cannot be put back into service. Maintains a daily record of disposed linen.
- Provides safety and security for the hotel and its guests. Alerts staff and guests to unsafe conditions and follows the company safety and security policies. Always observes and partakes of the hotel key control procedures. Is familiar with the hotel emergency plan and is able to confidently participate in emergency training procedures. Observes guest and hotel confidentiality procedures. Uses the hotel safe lifting procedures. Reports all incidents and injuries to the appropriate supervisor.
- Ensures cleaning supplies and chemicals are used correctly and all bottles are properly labeled in accordance with the chemical policy.
- Provides excellent customer service that goes above and beyond, to the hotel guests. Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times. Immediately address guest’s requests.
- Properly attired in uniform and nametag, in accordance with franchise and company uniform policy.
- Completes any other task requested by a supervisor, including training new associates.
Job specific position requirements
- Washes, dries, and folds the hotel linens according to the specifications of the laundry equipment and chemicals. Assists in the stripping of soiled linens from guest rooms. Stocks more fresh linens in the appropriate areas as needed.
- Ensures washers, dryers, and chemical dispensing systems are maintained properly and secured. Operates all equipment according to standard and product specifications. Is knowledgeable about the laundry chemicals and dispensing the correct products and amount for all different types or linen.
- Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen
- Ensures the laundry area is kept clean and lint free. Cleans lint traps daily.
- Assists in the inventory of linens on a monthly basis. Follows the proper reclaim procedures and properly disposes of linen that cannot be put back into service. Maintains a daily record of disposed linen.
- Ensures cleaning supplies and chemicals are used correctly and all bottles are properly labeled in accordance with the chemical policy.
Position Specific Requirements and Knowledge:
- Availability to work on all shifts, during the normal operating hours of the property.
- Ability to complete all required training in the time specified.
- Knowledge of the appropriate use of chemicals thorough understanding and practice of the chemical safety.
- Ability to understand, operate and trouble shoot large laundry equipment, including the chemical dispensers.
- Must maintain valid Cheyenne and Arapaho Gaming License/Permit.
Hazards: May include, but may not be limited to, burns, cuts, slipping, tripping, injury incurred through performance of physical labor. Also, may include exposure to chemicals.
