General Description
The Procurement Officer is under the direct supervision of the Procurement Manager. The Procurement Officer is responsible for planning, scheduling, procurement and expediting of purchased materials including but not limited to supplies, services, equipment, and other essentials that are required to support Lucky Star Casino in accordance with established procedures that is approved by the Procurement Manager.
Work Schedule
- Requires morning, afternoon and evenings. Monday through Friday.
- Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Recommends and/or selects appropriate resources, and provides such resources to aid in purchasing processes.
- Identifies and recommends which procurement items should go through bidding process.
- Ensures competition and reasonable cost to casino.
- Will complete training of procurement process with Procurement Manager.
- Will aid in the focus on documenting competitive quoting/bidding, securing a minimum of two quotations whenever possible.
- Prepare and review any issues with purchase orders in accordance with casino policy and procedure.
- Will deploy appropriate procedures to help minimize the negative impact to casino profitability.
- Expedites the delivery of materials, supplies, and services to assure that the needs of the casino are fulfilled.
- Will assist the Procurement Manager in being the focal point for the communication initiated between the casino and its vendors.
- Will address and resolve any issues which may arise with vendors in a timely and professional manner at the discretion of the Procurement Manager.
- Must exhibit STAR treatment to all customers and co-workers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Job Requirements
- Sit and/or stand continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with lunch break in an office environment.
- Requires bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting and pulling.
- Move objects up to and exceeding 25lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
Qualification Standards
- Must pass pre-employment drug test.
- Must maintain valid Cheyenne-Arapaho Gaming License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
MS Office Tools experience; knowledge of computer systems and/or communications systems
