General Description
Room attendants maintain the hotel guest rooms, guest bathrooms, amenities, and linens to a level of cleanliness that exceeds guest and Company expectations. Room Attendants are often the face of our property and the main point of guest contact. Room attendants are expected to provide excellent guest service and a quality room.
Work Schedule
- Requires mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Monday through Sunday.
- Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize assigned guest rooms in accordance with company and brand standards. Ensure fresh linens daily or as required. Restock guest supplies as needed, clean, sanitize and dust furniture and fixtures, sanitize bathroom fixtures and floors.
- Thoroughly prepare housekeeping cart daily to minimize trips to storage areas/laundry. Stock cart at end of shift for the next user.
- Ensure hotel equipment, such as cots, cribs, carts, and vacuums are maintained properly and secured. Report any issues immediately to management.
- Ensure cleaning supplies and chemicals are stored and labeled properly with brand and company standards.
- Provide excellent customer service always behaving in a professional manner. Immediately address guest’s requests. Assist guests with belongings/luggage as needed.
- Be properly attired in uniform and nametag, in accordance with franchise and company grooming and uniform policy.
- Communicate and follow-up with managers and co-workers about the status of guest requests, assigned tasks, property upkeep needs, safety concerns and injuries or incidents.
- Observe and follow key control procedures.
- Be familiar with the hotel emergency plan and can carry out emergency training procedures in confident manner, if needed.
- Provide input and ideas that enhance the operation of the housekeeping department and the property.
- Complete any other task as requested by a supervisor, including training new associates.
Job Qualifications:
- Must maintain valid Cheyenne & Arapaho Gaming Permit.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Knowledge of the appropriate use of chemicals thorough understanding and practice of the chemical safety.
- Ability to withstand the use of necessary chemicals and odors.
- Ability to complete all brand or company required training within the necessary timeframe.
Physical, Schedule and Work-Related Requirements
- Availability to work on all shifts, during the normal operating hours of the property.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and spend most day, standing, walking, folding, picking up linen, etc. Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, stretch, and step while performing job tasks. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. or greater.
- Must have 20/20 vision, corrected or uncorrected, to provide for attention to detail.
Hazards: May include, but may not be limited to, burns, cuts, slipping, tripping, injury incurred through performance of physical labor. Also, may include exposure to chemicals.
