A Prep Cook is responsible to cook and prepare food, clean, stock and organize kitchen and related areas in adherence to all Company Policy/Store standards.
Requires morning, afternoons, evenings. Monday through Sunday, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval by supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of cooking and food preparation.
Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and ovens.
Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in kitchen and work areas.
Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring Kitchen and food preparation stock.
Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including but not limited to housekeeping, customer service and loss prevention.
Accurately and efficiently clean all food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils.
Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
Ability to cook the exact number of items ordered by each customer while working on several different orders simultaneously.
Ability to read food order slips and to prepare and cook food according to instructions.
Ability to order and take delivery of supplies in accordance with company policy.
Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and kitchen area.
Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to work in the kitchen area.
Ability to follow Management direction accurately and effectively.
Greet guests and co-workers in a professional, friendly manner while exhibiting STAR treatment.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Physical Job Requirements
Stand continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with lunch break.
Move objects up to and exceeding 25lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
Must pass pre-employment drug test
High School Diploma and/or equivalent retail experience
Basic mathematical skills
Basic verbal and written communication skills
