Convenience Store Manager

OVERVIEW:
The Convenience Store Manager is under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is responsible for supervising, implementing, and administering the management efforts of the Concho Convenient Store by ensuring the quality and professionalism of all convenience stores and providing an atmosphere that exceeds our guest’s expectations. Oversees the overall operation of retail convenience stores, ensuring they run smoothly.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with convenience store staff to train, supervise, hire, terminate, and set an example for all to follow.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work space, inside and outside store.
- Communicate all issues or needs to the CFO in a timely manner.
- Maintain the highest level of integrity with Lucky Star, customers, and fellow employees; holding yourself, and your co-workers to the highest standards.
- Understand and know product carried and price, as well as all applicable discount rates.
- Understand and comply with all applicable health regulations, liquor law, and safety and fuel standards.
- Hold c- store Manager and staff accountable for standards of service, inventory control, and stock presentation.
- Represent the c-stores in a professional and exemplary manner with STAR treatment and promote the success of the store to guests and staff alike.
- Responsible for the safety, sanitation and presentation of all c-stores and fuel islands. (Quality Assurance)
- Monitor budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions in order to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
- Monitor compliance with health regulations and work in conjunction with Safety Director.
- Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance and safety.
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding c-stores.
- To carry out or ensure that regular On-the-Job Training is taking place to agreed standards.
- Hire, train and develop management teams
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand and walk continuously for extended periods of time
- Requires bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and pulling
- Able to move objects up to and exceeding 25 lbs
- Travel is required.
QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:
- 2 or more year’s retail experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and stay well organized.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills are critical attributes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
- Must be able to obtain and maintain ABLE liquor license
- Must maintain valid Cheyenne-Arapaho Gaming License
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
