General Description
The Cage & Vault Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of effective and efficient policies and procedures for the casino’s Cage & Vault operations, and to ensure compliance with those procedures. The Cage & Vault Manager must be able to hire, develop and manage a diverse and changing workforce to accurately and professionally handle all casino assets, while adhering to all applicable laws, regulations and casino policies.
Work Schedule
- Requires morning, afternoons, evenings and night shifts. Monday through Sunday.
- Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval from supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops sound and efficient operating procedures and reports which comply with all gaming and other applicable rules and regulations.
- Responsible for the security and accountability of casino assets.
- Oversee all staff management aspects-including hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, evaluation, disciplining and dismissal of the Cage & Vault employees.
- Set up beginning banks for all cashiers.
- Prepare bank deposits on scheduled days, and maintain constant communication with staff Accountant to know which accounts to deposit to.
- Verify all money and coupons turned in by all cashiers.
- Audit employee close drawer report in the event of a variance.
- Perform a daily check of vault balances and credit cards at the end of each shift.
- Inform Vault (Money Room) Supervisor and Admission Supervisor of the current coupons and complimentary passes that may be available for any given day.
- Be available to assist Supervisor’s in the event of questions pertaining to Check verification, credit card, coupon redemption, Player’s Club redemption, etc.
- Prepare daily reports as outlined by General Manager.
- Maintain close communication with the General Manager.
- Secure all monies and other items of cash value at the end of each shift.
- All duties are not listed, as this is only an overview of your duties, you will assist in other areas as the needed.
Authority and Supervision Capacity:
- Outline duties for the Vault (Money Room) Supervisor and Admission Supervisor on a weekly basis.
- Assist Supervisor’s in the event of questions pertaining to check verification, credit card, coupon
- Redemption, Player’s Club redemption, etc.
- Schedule and maintain sufficient staff.
- Initiate disciplinary action when necessary.
- Schedule employee evaluations
- Order all necessary equipment and supplies for department.
- Prepare daily reports as outlined by General Manager.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Stand/walk continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with lunch break.
- Requires finger dexterity, grasping, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, lifting and pulling.
- Move objects up to and exceeding 25 lbs. with reasonable accommodations.
- Casino environment with exposure to smoke; loud mechanical noise and flashing lights.
Qualification Standards:
- Minimum High School education or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience with willingness to obtain training as requested.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years Cash Handling or Banking experience.
- Applicant must possess the ability to communicate well with the general public.
- Must have general knowledge of accounting principles.
- Must have general knowledge of computer/cash register operations.
- Must have general knowledge of personal computer operating software.
- The ability to operate currency and coin counters.
- Must possess the ability to know when to delegate tasks to subordinates.
- Minimum of 18 years old for employment, as per Tribal Gaming Ordinance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.
- Must pass pre-employment drug test.
