The Breakfast attendant is responsible for service of breakfast in our cafe, often times setting the tone for a guest’s entire day. Breakfast attendants must possess an over-the-top welcoming attitude when greeting guests at breakfast. They maintain the breakfast area, kitchen, food preparation areas, equipment, and supplies in a clean, efficient, safe, and organized fashion. The breakfast attendant is responsible to set-up, tear down and maintain the breakfast buffet each day. The breakfast attendant must be well versed in food safety and is responsible for maintaining the food safety requirements and reporting of the breakfast and kitchen areas.
Requires mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Monday through Sunday.
Request to be scheduled off for a specific day requires advance notification and approval.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains a welcoming presence in the cafe, immediately acknowledging guests, requests, questions, and making an excellent first impression for our guests.
Is neat and clean in appearance, wears proper uniform, name/ID badge, apron (if required), correct department footwear (non-skid), and a smile.
Daily set up, maintenance and break down of the morning breakfast buffet for guests.
Ensure that the breakfast buffet and all food items meet all applicable safety, presentation, and quality standards.
Ensure safe food temperatures and safe food handling for the breakfast service. Must properly utilize safety tools and equipment. Maintain appropriate records and uphold standard requirements for food safety.
Orders food items and supplies per forecasted occupancy and uses any Hilton tools to ensure proper ordering. Ensures that waste is kept to a minimum and recorded and tracked appropriately.
Follows all Health Department, Company, Federal, State and Local safe food handling and food and kitchen safety policies and procedures.
Assures that the dining room and service work areas are maintained in an attractive, sanitary manner by performing all side work duties, such as table setup, floor cleaning, supply stocking, equipment cleaning, dishwashing, trash removal, etc.
Practices excellent communication skills, shares information to other shifts and to management through use of the daily logbook or other approved channels.
Has thorough understanding of all emergency plans, safety and operating procedures and standards. Follows procedure and reports all incidents or injuries to supervisor immediately.
Provides input and ideas on the F&B operation and participates in training initiatives and skill development to provide feedback to improve the department.
Completes any other task as requested by a supervisor, including the training new associates.
Position Specific Qualifications and Requirements:
Must be able to procure and maintain required safe food handling and service certification.
Must have ability to pass any related competency or skills-based training that is necessary, specifically POS System and menu tests.
Physical, Schedule and Work Requirements:
Availability to work early morning and early afternoon shifts and be on-call to work as needed during peak season, special events, or times of high occupancy.
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, push and pull while performing job tasks. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or greater.
